Seed Scroll ("we", "our", or "us") is a Bible study and community app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data. By using the app you agree to the practices described here.
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the public profile information those services provide (name, email). You may also set a display name, username, and profile photo.
Content you create or submit. Study notes, hashtags, reading plans, search prompts, support messages, and other content you write or publish inside the app may be stored on our servers. When you choose an import, transcription, or AI-assisted feature, we also process the documents, images, photos, audio recordings, video links, or transcripts you submit. Because Seed Scroll is a Bible study app, this content may reflect religious or philosophical beliefs.
Social interactions. Follows, likes, and enrollment in reading plans are recorded so we can power the social Feed and send relevant notifications.
Usage data. We collect the books, chapters, and verses you read, searches submitted to online features, reading plan progress, and interactions such as follows, likes, and enrollments so we can provide the requested features, calculate streaks, and show accurate progress.
Purchase information. Payments for subscriptions or one-time purchases, including licensed Bible translations, are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not receive or store your payment card details. RevenueCat provides us with purchase and entitlement status so we can unlock content and restore purchases.
Device & notification tokens. With your permission we store an Expo push notification token to deliver reading reminders and social notifications (likes, follows, etc.). You can revoke this permission in your device settings at any time.
Diagnostics and support. We use Sentry to receive crash reports, performance information, technical logs, and limited session replay data so we can diagnose failures and improve reliability. Session replay is configured to mask text, images, and vector content. If you submit feedback, Sentry also processes the name, email address, and message you provide.
Reports you submit. When you report a profile, study note, reading plan, or audio playlist, we collect and store your account identity, the reported account's identity, which profile or content was reported, the category you selected, any explanation you wrote, any screenshot you attached, and the date and time you submitted it. We also keep a copy of the reported profile or content as it appeared when you reported it, so that a later edit does not erase what was reported. We record our review notes and any enforcement action taken.
Reports are anonymous to the person reported — but not to us. The user or creator you report is never shown who reported them. Reports are visible to authorized Seed Scroll administrators, who use them to investigate abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, preserve evidence, and protect users.
Local storage. Some preferences, such as dark mode and onboarding status, are stored only on your device. Other information described above may be synchronized to our servers when you sign in or use an online feature.
We do not sell your personal information or use it to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
We rely on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
Public content you choose to publish (notes, reading plans, profile information, and social interactions) is visible to other users of the app. Content you keep private is accessible only as needed to provide the service. We share data with the service providers listed above only to operate features you request, process purchases, provide notifications, diagnose technical issues, and support the app. We do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of our users, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (in which case we will notify you).
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab → Settings → Delete Account. Upon deletion we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Reports and related evidence. Reports you submit or that are submitted about you — including explanations, screenshots, the copy of the reported profile or content, and our review and enforcement records — may be retained after an account is deleted, where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, protect users, or comply with legal obligations. Access to them remains limited to authorized Seed Scroll administrators.
Seed Scroll is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords, and row-level security in our database to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
